Sewer line repair through small access points, not a trench.
Trenchless Sewer Line Repair in Santa Clarita
Trenchless sewer repair fixes a damaged line from below ground, so your yard doesn’t have to be dug up to reach it. We either replace the pipe with pipe bursting or seal it from the inside with pipe relining, and both are done through one or two small openings.
Rowland Plumbing, Cooling, Heating & Electrical uses trenchless methods throughout the Santa Clarita Valley and nearby communities when a sewer line is cracked, leaking, or full of roots. It’s especially useful when the line runs under a driveway, a pool deck, a retaining wall, or the root zone of a protected oak.
Less Digging, Less Downtime, Lower Total Cost
With a traditional sewer repair, the whole damaged section gets dug up, and then you pay to rebuild whatever was sitting on top of it. Trenchless repair handles the pipe underground, so most of that excavation and restoration never has to happen.
It isn’t right for every line. A pipe that has fully collapsed or has a deep sag may still need a traditional dig. We run a video inspection first, so you know which situation you’re in before we recommend anything.
Wondering if trenchless is an option for your sewer line? We’ll take a look and give you a straight answer.

How Trenchless Sewer Repair Works
After the camera inspection maps the line, we open one or two small access points, usually near each end of the damaged section or at an existing cleanout. From there, we either pull a new pipe through the path of the old one or install a liner that cures into a new pipe inside it. The repair happens underground, and the only disturbed ground is at those access points, which we backfill and clean up when the job is done.
Why Homeowners Go Trenchless
Most people choosing between trenchless and traditional repair focus on three things:
- Your property stays intact. Lawns, pavers, sprinklers, and hardscape are left in place instead of being dug up and rebuilt.
- Your plumbing is back sooner. Many trenchless jobs are finished in a day, while a full excavation can take several.
- The overall bill is often lower. The repair itself is a real investment, but skipping the digging and restoration usually brings down the total.
Keep Your Landscaping, Fix the Sewer Line
A sewer repair can leave behind more damage than the broken pipe itself. A trench across a finished yard means new sod, rerouted sprinklers, reset pavers, and sometimes new concrete, and that restoration can cost nearly as much as the plumbing work.
That’s why Rowland Plumbing, Cooling, Heating & Electrical recommends trenchless repair whenever the line is a good candidate. In a valley full of sloped lots, terraced yards, and mature trees, keeping the ground in place saves more than just the lawn.
Where Trenchless Makes the Biggest Difference
Trenchless repair helps most when the sewer line runs somewhere that’s hard or expensive to dig.
Common examples include:
- Under hardscape. Driveways, pool decks, patios, and walkways can stay in place instead of being broken out and poured again.
- Near trees. Digging near mature trees can damage their roots, and in Santa Clarita, oaks are protected by city ordinance. Trenchless methods keep the work away from the root zone.
- On slopes and terraces. Hillside lots and retaining walls make trenching difficult and risky. Small access points avoid disturbing them.
The new pipe or liner is also seamless, which leaves fewer joints for roots to find their way into.
What Trenchless Sewer Repair Costs
Sewer line repair is one of the larger plumbing expenses a homeowner faces, and standard insurance often won’t cover it. Trenchless methods help by cutting out most of the digging and yard restoration that a traditional repair requires.
The price depends on the length of the damaged section, how deep it runs, how many connections need to be reopened, and what sits on top of it. After the inspection, you’ll get a written quote with one price for the whole job, and financing options are available for larger repairs.
Your Trenchless Replacement Options
When a sewer line is past the point of clearing or a spot repair, there are two ways to fix it without a trench:
- Pipe bursting installs a brand-new pipe along the old line's path, breaking up the old pipe as it goes. It's the go-to option for badly damaged, corroded, or undersized lines.
- Pipe relining creates a new pipe inside the existing one by curing a resin liner in place. It works well for cracks, leaky joints, and root intrusion when the line still holds its shape.
We’ll recommend the method that fits your line, and if neither is the right fit, we’ll tell you that too and walk you through your other sewer repair options.
