Pipes age with the house. Galvanized steel in older homes corrodes from the inside and narrows over time. Polybutylene, used in many homes built in the ’80s and early ’90s, is known to crack and fail without warning. Copper can develop pinhole leaks after years of hard water and high pressure. One leak can be patched, but when they keep showing up along the same line, the pipe itself is wearing out, and replacing it is the more reliable fix.

Professional Pipe Leak Repair

Not every leak means new pipe. A loose fitting, a single pinhole, or a damaged section can often be repaired on its own, and we’ll recommend that whenever it’s the better choice. Water that’s been escaping for a while can rot wood, damage drywall, and encourage mold, so the sooner a leak is found, the less there is to fix. If you’re not sure where the water is coming from, our leak detection service can pinpoint it before we open anything up.

When we find a leak, we’ll look at the condition of the pipe around it too. If the line is still in good shape, we repair it, and you’re done. If it’s corroded, brittle, or has leaked before, we’ll explain why replacing that run will save you repeat calls. Leaks under the foundation have their own options, which we cover in our slab leak service. For drain and sewer lines, pipe relining can sometimes avoid digging altogether.
