Wiring, Outlet & GFCI Services for Santa Clarita Homes

Outlets and switches get used thousands of times a year, and the wiring behind them ages with the rest of the house. When a plug falls out of a loose outlet, a switch buzzes, or a GFCI refuses to reset, something inside the circuit has changed. Those small signs are easier and cheaper to deal with before they grow into a bigger problem.

Rowland Plumbing, Cooling, Heating & Electrical has taken care of Santa Clarita Valley homes since 1987, and electrical work is now part of that. Our licensed, insured electricians handle everything from a single outlet swap to a whole-home rewire, with permits when required and written pricing up front.

Wiring Repair & Rewiring

Some homes need one repair. Others need broader updates, especially older homes that have been added onto and remodeled over the years.

Outlets, Switches & GFCI Protection

Many calls start at the wall plate. What happens there usually says something about the circuit behind it.

Every connection is tight, every wire is the right size, and every device is properly grounded.

The Rowland Way

What Comes With Every Rowland Visit

A Technician Within the Hour

Most daytime calls get someone to your door in about 60 minutes, and the quick response doesn't cost extra.

One Price for the Whole Job

We quote the job, not the clock. The number you approve is the number you pay, however long the work takes.

Our Own People, Every Time

Every technician is a background-checked, drug-tested Rowland employee who trains weekly. Shoe covers go on at the door, and we clean up before we go.

Outlet or Switch Emergencies

Some outlet and switch problems need attention the same day. That includes an outlet that sparks when you plug something in, a plug that’s melted or discolored, a switch plate that’s hot to the touch, or a burning smell you can trace to one spot on the wall. Stop using that outlet or switch, and shut off its breaker if you can reach it safely.

For urgent calls during business hours, we can usually get an electrician to you within 60 minutes. They arrive with a stocked truck, make the area safe, and complete the repair on the spot whenever possible.

If a full fix needs parts or a permit, we’ll make things safe in the meantime and explain the next steps. You’ll have everything in writing before any work begins.

Why Homeowners Call Rowland for Electrical Work

Electrical work should fix the problem completely and pass inspection the first time. That's the standard we've held in our heating and cooling work for decades, and it's the same one our electricians work to. Here's what you get:

Still deciding? Our thousands of five-star reviews on Google show what it’s like to work with us.

Rowland has worked in local homes since 1987, starting with heating and cooling. That background shapes how our electricians look at a house. Wiring doesn’t work alone. It feeds the AC, the kitchen, the laundry room, and everything else you plug in.

The load on that wiring has grown a lot. Santa Clarita summers keep AC systems running for months at a time. Kitchens have more appliances than when most valley neighborhoods were built. Add home offices, garage gyms, and EV chargers, and a wiring layout that was fine 30 years ago can start running short, even if nothing looks wrong yet.

We wire for the way your household uses power now. That means properly sized wire, the right protection in the right places, and upgrades built for years of everyday use.

Review is for consultation only, but Brooks was fantastic! Super friendly, and also straightfoward about my situation and the company's offerings. Very knowledgeable, given previous experience as contractor and city inspector. Brooks was also respectful, wearing shoe covers without needing to be asked

Frequently Asked Questions

Wiring & Outlet Questions From Santa Clarita Homeowners

Why does my GFCI outlet keep tripping?

A GFCI trips when it senses current leaking where it shouldn't. That can come from moisture in an outdoor or bathroom outlet, a faulty appliance plugged into it, or a device on the same circuit farther down the line. GFCIs also wear out over time. If yours trips often, unplug everything on it and reset it to narrow down the cause, then have an electrician test it.

Only if there's a ground wire behind the outlet. Without one, a three-prong outlet might look grounded, but it isn't. The code-approved options are to run a new ground wire or to install GFCI protection and label the outlet as ungrounded. We'll check your wiring and tell you which option fits your home.

Warning signs include breakers that trip often, several outlets that feel warm, rooms with unreliable power, and visibly aging wire, like cloth-insulated or ungrounded wiring. Many homes need only the problem circuits replaced, not a full rewire. An evaluation shows which scope makes sense.

Mostly, yes. Electricians can fish new wire through existing wall cavities and use the attic, the garage ceiling, and closets to reach most circuits. Some small openings are usually needed on the lower floor, and they’re kept small, placed carefully, and easy to patch.

A standard replacement usually takes well under an hour when the wiring behind it is in good shape. If the connections need repair or the box needs replacing, it takes a bit longer, but most outlet and switch work still finishes the same day.
