Emergency Plumbing Service in Santa Clarita

Rowland Plumbing, Cooling, Heating & Electrical handles plumbing emergencies across the Santa Clarita Valley, the San Fernando Valley, the Antelope Valley, and nearby communities.

When a pipe bursts, a water heater lets go, or sewage starts coming up through a drain, every minute adds to the damage. Our phones are answered around the clock. During business hours, most emergency calls get a plumber to your door within about an hour.

First Steps During a Plumbing Emergency

1. Stop the water at the main.

The main shutoff valve is usually near the front of the house, on an outside wall, or in a box near the curb. In many Santa Clarita homes, it's close to where the water line enters by the garage. Closing it stops the flow, no matter which pipe or fixture is failing.

2. Use the local shutoff if the problem is at one fixture.

Toilets, sinks, and washing machines usually have a small valve right behind or below them. If only one fixture is leaking, shutting it off there keeps the water on for the rest of the house.

3. Keep water away from electricity.

If water is near outlets, cords, or the electrical panel, shut off power to that area only if you can reach the panel without stepping through water. If you can't, stay back and keep everyone clear.

4. Protect what you can.

Lift electronics, rugs, and anything valuable off the floor, and put towels down to slow the spread while you wait.

5. If you smell gas, leave first.

Don’t touch light switches or appliances. Get everyone out of the house, then call 911 and SoCalGas from a safe distance. In this case, getting out comes before every other step on this list. Learn more about gas leak service.

Quick Answers

Emergency Plumbing Questions From Santa Clarita Homeowners

Can I reach an emergency plumber in Santa Clarita at night or on the weekend?

Yes, our phones are answered 24/7. Plumbers are dispatched during business hours, roughly 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you call outside that window, you'll still get help with the next steps, including how to shut off the water and keep damage to a minimum until a plumber arrives.

Not with us. The $89 dispatch fee covers the visit and the diagnosis, and it's credited toward the repair if you move forward. After that, the repair is priced by the job, so the time of day and the length of the work don't change what you pay.

Most homes in the area have it near the front of the house, on an exterior wall close to where the water line comes in, or in a covered box near the curb. It's worth finding it before you need it. If you can't locate yours, we can point it out during any service visit.

Usually, yes. A small drip from a valve can sometimes wait, but water pooling around the base of the tank often means the tank itself is failing. Shut off the water supply to the heater and the gas or power, and give us a call.

Burst pipes and major leaks are the most common, followed by sewage backups and water heater failures. Many homes here sit on concrete slabs, so hidden slab leaks under the floor are another frequent cause of sudden water damage.
