Small-town service from a team that knows rural homes.
HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical Services in Piru, CA
Head west from Santa Clarita along Highway 126, past the orchards of the Santa Clara River Valley, and you’ll reach Piru. It’s a small town with a long history, and its homes range from older farmhouses to newer builds near Lake Piru. Rural homes often come with propane appliances, no central air, and long stretches between neighbors.
Rowland Plumbing, Cooling, Heating & Electrical has worked in homes across this region since 1987, and Piru is part of our regular route. We handle heating and cooling, water heaters, plumbing, drains, and electrical work, and our trucks come stocked, so a long drive doesn’t turn into a second trip.
Challenges That Come With Country Living
Piru homes deal with a few things most suburban houses don’t. Here’s what our technicians run into most often.
Homes That Run on Propane
Not every property in and around Piru is connected to a natural gas line, so many homes use propane for the water heater, furnace, or range. Propane appliances need the right parts and settings, and leaks need fast attention. Our technicians repair and replace propane equipment, and we take gas leak calls seriously.
Older Homes Built Without Central Air
Some of Piru’s older homes were never built with ductwork, which makes summer heat hard to escape. Adding ducts isn’t always practical, but a ductless mini-split can cool individual rooms or the whole house without major construction. We’ll also check that your electrical service can support the new load.
Santa Ana Winds and Fire Season
Hot, dry Santa Ana winds blow through the Santa Clara River Valley in the fall, and wildfire smoke can follow. Gaps in ductwork and worn filters let dust and smoke into the house. Duct sealing and fresh, high-quality filters help keep the air inside your home cleaner when conditions outside get rough.

What Piru Residents Want to Know
What HVAC company services Piru?
Rowland Plumbing, Cooling, Heating & Electrical provides heating and air conditioning service in Piru, along with plumbing and electrical work. Our technicians come out along Highway 126 from our Canyon Country base. When you call, we’ll set up an arrival window that works for you. Our phones are answered 24/7, and technicians are dispatched during business hours.
Can you work on propane water heaters and furnaces?
Yes. We repair, maintain, and replace propane-fired water heaters and heating equipment. Let us know your home runs on propane when you call so we can bring the right parts.
What's the best way to cool an older home with no ductwork?
How can I keep wildfire smoke out of my house?
Keep windows and doors closed on smoky days, run your HVAC system with a high-quality filter, and replace that filter more often during fire season. Sealing leaks in your ductwork also helps keep outside air from being pulled in through the attic or crawl space.
Piru is in Ventura County. Who handles permits?
